I participated in the webinar "Does Information Literacy Make a Difference for Pre-College Students." Debra Gilchrist, our hostess, described a 5 yr LSTA grant being used for PILR (Pre-College Information Literacy Resarch).
I enjoyed listening in on the strategies to influence and assess student learning.
When a teleconference covers a key topic like this, IL (Information Literacy), it is so useful to sit in and hear all the good questions & answers, share sources, and collaborate with a wide range of people and institutions. This isn't always possible in the 'real world'.
The chat feature is a great tool. Making it easy to count participants and see their thoughts and responses to polls. Presenters can give immediate stats to polls, which pop up over the slides. Pretty cool! Webinars are archived so later you can share it w/ colleagues or go back for that link you didn't jot down.
